It is expected that rostered leaders in the ELCA participate in ongoing continuing education on maintaining appropriate boundaries in ministry. This workshop will address issues church professionals must be aware of and will also cover boundaries and social media use. All rostered leaders and lay church staff are encouraged to register and attend. Rev Emily Carson and Rev Dave Efflandt from SEMN Synod will be facilitating the training. Rev. Emily Carson serves on the staff of the Southeastern Minnesota Synod. She is the synod's Director for Evangelical Mission and also serves as one of the Assistants to the Bishop with a focus on cultivating generosity. Reverend David Efflandt is current serving as lead pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Kasson, MN. Dave completed training at church-wide office of the ELCA in November, 2017 to become a certified boundaries facilitator, and has been facilitating power and boundaries workshops for synods and for seminaries since.
