Holding Vigil: An Evening of Paint Pouring Prayers
Thu, Oct 8th 7pm - 8pm
WEBINAR ONLY ONLINE ONLINE, ONLINE ONLINE

The prayer practice of holding vigil invites us to stay awake and stay present to the moment of lament, especially in times of grief and injustice. Vigils give space for communities to gather, to listen to and share in stories, and to bear witness to the present reality; all while clinging to the hope of God’s presence in the midst. In this 1-hour virtual vigil, you will be guided step-by-step through a simple art making process of offering prayers and paint on a small canvas. Once dry, you are invited to display your creative expressions as visual reminders of our collective prayers for God’s grace and justice in and for the sake of the world. This multi-generational event is open to individuals and families of all ages and stages. Event is free with a suggested donation of $15 to cover the supplies. Project supplies will be mailed. Registration deadline: September 25. For questions, contact Sister Michelle Walka at MichelleWalkaArt@gmail.com.
